The legal basis for such processing is generally our legitimate interest in developing our business, technological solutions, products and services, provided that such interests are not overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms.
Where possible, we use anonymous, pseudonymised or aggregated data for these purposes.
Offering products, services and cooperation opportunities

We may provide you with information about products and services that we believe may be of interest or relevance to you. You have the right to opt out of marketing communications at any time (for further information, see the “Marketing” section).
Compliance with legal obligations and protection of rights
Where necessary, we may process personal data in order to comply with obligations arising from applicable law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Depending on the circumstances, the legal basis is compliance with our legal obligations or our legitimate interest in protecting our rights.
4. To whom may your personal data be disclosed?
We may use third-party service providers to operate our website (including hosting and cloud services), facilitate internal communications (Slack), analyse the use of our website (PostHog) and manage enquiries from homeowners and contractors.
If you consent to marketing cookies, we also send certain data to Meta (see the “Marketing” section).
Our service providers may process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide services to us and in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
We may also disclose personal data where required by law, to competent public authorities, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
5. Where is your personal data processed?
We use service providers that may, in the course of providing their services, process certain limited personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
Where this involves a transfer of personal data outside the EEA, we ensure that the transfer is carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws and that appropriate safeguards are implemented.
If you would like further information about the locations where personal data is processed or the safeguards applicable to international data transfers, you may contact us at info@tanuma.ee
6. Marketing
We wish to send you information about products and services which, in our best judgement, may be suitable for you. You have the right and opportunity to opt out of receiving such information at any time by notifying us of your preference either through the platform or by email at info@tanuma.ee
Purposes of data collection and use
We collect data through the web environment and the server in order to provide you with relevant and effective advertisements and to improve our services and your user experience.
Sharing marketing data with advertising platforms
We may send selected events and their attributes (for example, information concerning the completion of forms) to advertising platforms such as Meta Ads in order to improve marketing communications. This data is used to optimize your user experience and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
We send data to Meta only if you have consented to marketing cookies; without that consent, nothing is sent to Meta. With your consent, the Meta Pixel running in your browser reports page views and form completions to Meta, and our server also reports each form completion to Meta through the Meta Conversions API.
In order to optimize the relevance of advertisements, your name, email address, telephone number and country (Estonia) are sent to Meta only in hashed form, which allows Meta to link the data to your profile. Hashed data is pseudonymised, not anonymised. We use cryptographic hash functions to hash the data. Your IP address, browser user agent and Meta’s own cookie identifiers (_fbp and _fbc) are sent unhashed. If the _fbc cookie is missing but you arrived on the website through a Meta advertisement, we create the same identifier from the fbclid parameter and send it.
A limited number of personal identifiers that you have already provided to social media platforms are used to identify you across different social media channels.
Personal data in hashed form enables advertising platforms to analyse the impact of advertisements and identify suitable candidates among target audiences.
Security and data protection
All transmitted data is protected in transit using modern cryptographic methods.
Advertising platforms process the data solely for the purpose of displaying our advertisements and are prohibited from sharing the data with third parties.
We do not share methods used to create advertising audiences or other datasets with third parties.
7. How long do we retain your personal data?
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which the data was collected or otherwise processed.
Information submitted by potential contractors and service providers, and information submitted by homeowners in renovation enquiries, is generally retained for up to two years from the date on which the data was submitted or the last substantive contact, unless a longer retention period is required by law or longer retention is necessary for another legitimate purpose.
If we enter into a contract with you, information relating to that relationship may be retained for different periods in accordance with applicable legal requirements, contractual needs and document retention obligations.
We may also retain certain personal data for a longer period where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We periodically assess the need to retain personal data used for the development of platforms, products and services and, where possible, use anonymous or aggregated data for such purposes.
8. Cookies
The Tanuma website uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure the proper functioning and security of the website and to understand how visitors use the website. With your consent, we also use cookies for marketing purposes (see the “Marketing” section).
We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect the website and forms against spam, fraud and automated abuse.
When this service is used, Google may process certain technical and device-related data necessary to distinguish genuine users from automated or abusive activity.
We also use the PostHog analytics service to understand how visitors use the website and to improve its operation and user experience. PostHog processes this data in its European Union region.
PostHog may collect information about website usage, such as pages visited and actions taken on the website, approximate location derived from technical information, and information about your browser and device.
If you have not consented to statistics cookies, PostHog stores nothing on your device and does not recognise you when you return. Only with that consent does PostHog store a cookie and a local storage entry on your device to recognise return visits, and record your visit (session recording): the pages you view and how you scroll, click and move around on them. In session recordings, what you type into form fields is masked, except the name, company name, email address and telephone number fields of the contractor registration form, which are recorded as entered.
If you consent to marketing cookies, the Meta Pixel stores the _fbp and _fbc cookies on your device, which identify your browser and, where applicable, the Meta advertisement through which you arrived on the website (see the “Marketing” section).
Regardless of your cookie choices, we keep the campaign and click parameters with which you arrived on the website (for example fbclid or UTM parameters) in your browser’s session storage during your visit, so that a form you submit can be linked to the campaign that brought you to the website. Your browser deletes them when you close the browser tab.
We use the Cookiebot service to ask for and store your cookie consent; Cookiebot stores your choice in a cookie.
Where the use of analytics cookies or other non-essential cookies requires consent, we use them only after obtaining the relevant consent.
You can reject such cookies or withdraw your consent through the cookie settings available on the Tanuma website.
9. How do we protect your personal data?
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction, alteration or disclosure.
Access to personal data is restricted to persons who need it to perform their duties and to service providers who require access to the data in order to provide services to us.
10. Your data protection rights
Under applicable data protection laws, you may have the right to access your personal data, request its rectification or erasure, restrict its processing or object to processing, request data portability, and withdraw your consent where processing is based on consent.
Certain statutory conditions and limitations may apply to the exercise of these rights.
To exercise your rights or ask questions regarding the processing of personal data, please contact us at info@tanuma.ee. Before responding to your request, we may ask you to verify your identity.
11. Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe that your personal data has been processed in violation of applicable data protection laws, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.
In Estonia, the supervisory authority is the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, AKI).
You may also contact us first at info@tanuma.ee so that we can try to resolve your concern.
12. Changes to the Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our website, business activities and services develop, or where necessary to reflect changes in our personal data processing activities or applicable laws.
The applicable Privacy Policy will be available on our website.
